Founder and Managing Attorney, Asif Ehsan

Asif Ehsan, is the founder and managing attorney of EHSAN LAW / EHSAN LEGAL GROUP, a fast-growing immigration law firm dedicated to helping individuals and families navigate the U.S. immigration system with strategy, compassion, and purpose. Asif’s personal and professional journey—from Fulbright Scholar to refugee to attorney—embodies the transformative power of resilience and the opportunity this great country can offer its new residents.

Born and raised in Afghanistan, Asif first came to the United States as a Fulbright Scholar, earning his B.A. from Macalester College in Minnesota. He later returned to the U.S. on a Department of State scholarship to complete his LL.M. at Washington and Lee University School of Law. On both occasions, Asif returned to Afghanistan to contribute to legal reform, teach law at the university level, and support democratic development.

He later earned his J.D. from the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University, intending to continue his public service in Afghanistan. But as conditions deteriorated, returning became unsafe—and Asif sought refuge in the United States. It was during this time that he became a client of an immigration attorney whose advocacy helped him secure legal status and rebuild his life. That experience inspired his life’s mission: to help others do the same.

Before founding EHSAN LAW, Asif served as a prosecutor in Minnesota and Washington, handling criminal cases from charging to jury trial. He also clerked for two district court judges, gaining insight into judicial reasoning and litigation strategy.

At EHSAN LAW, Asif draws on his legal training, courtroom experience, and personal immigration journey to lead a mission-driven practice. He works closely with his legal team—including a senior associate, Of Counsels, and support staff—to provide high-quality representation to clients seeking asylum, humanitarian relief, family reunification, and employment-based immigration solutions.

Asif’s work is more than legal representation—it is a way to give back to the country that gave him safety, opportunity, and a second chance. Through his firm, he helps others build new lives in the United States and contribute to its future.
