Advocates Call for Improvements to Asylum System

In recent years, advocates have called for improvements to the U.S. asylum system, including increased staffing and resources for asylum offices and immigration courts, as well as changes to policies that make it difficult for asylum seekers to apply for and be granted protection. Advocates have also called for the restoration of certain protections for asylum seekers that were rolled back by the Trump administration.
